At Thermory, we’re lucky to work with distributors who don’t just talk the talk—they deliver the kind of quality, performance, and sustainable practices we believe in. One of those standout partners is Mason’s Mill & Lumber. Based in Houston, Texas, they’ve built a reputation for top-tier hardwoods and custom millwork, all backed by a deep commitment to craftsmanship and customer care.
Over Three Decades of Craftsmanship and Innovation
Since opening their doors in 1989, Mason’s Mill & Lumber has earned a reputation as one of the top-tier suppliers in the region. With over 2 million board feet of premium lumber in inventory and a highly skilled staff of seasoned professionals, they continue to blend traditional values with cutting-edge innovation.
“We’re a family-owned business that’s always evolving,” says Sam Damiani, Sales Director at Mason’s Mill. “We’ve invested in laser-precision milling, advanced inventory control systems, and real-time delivery tracking to ensure our customers get exactly what they need—when they need it.”
The company’s large-scale custom milling operations are unmatched, with five industrial moulders and a knife library containing over 8,000 profiles. Whether you need custom radius moulding, stair treads, or historic architectural profiles, Mason’s Mill has the tools—and the talent—to bring your vision to life. Their pre-finishing division also offers stain and base coat options for exterior wood decking and cladding, streamlining the build process for clients from start to finish.
Partnering with Purpose, Backed by Thermory
Mason’s Mill began sourcing Thermory products in 2016 on a project-by-project basis. But it didn’t take long to see the potential in a long-term partnership.
“By 2019, the demand had grown so much—and the product quality was so consistent—that we made the decision to become a full stocking distributor,” says Damiani. “It was one of the best decisions we’ve made.”
For a company that’s long supplied tropical hardwoods, Thermory offered something new: high-performance material with a low environmental impact.
“What sets Thermory apart comes down to three key qualities: durability, performance, and sustainability,” Damiani explains. “Not only does it outperform tropical hardwoods, it’s also eco-friendly and backed by a company with a real focus on quality control.”
A Standout Build That Is Making Waves
One standout project? The Balboa Surf Club, an upscale, mid-century modern seafood restaurant located in Houston’s Uptown District. Designed by the Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, the space is an elegant fusion of Brazilian brutalism, lush textures, and warm wood tones.
“To help achieve this vision, Thermory Benchmark Ash cladding was used throughout the exterior,” says Damiani. “It delivered the perfect mix of character and durability. The result is a space that feels elevated, yet inviting—proof of what’s possible when great design meets premium materials.”

Hardwoods and High Praise
Feedback from clients has been overwhelmingly positive.
“Many tell us they wish they’d used Thermory on earlier projects,” Damiani says. “They love how easy it is to install, the clean appearance, and the fact that it arrives ready to use with very little waste.”
As demand has grown, Thermory has also helped Mason’s Mill expand its reach.
“Partnering with Thermory has opened the door to larger commercial projects and built strong relationships with architects,” he says. “It’s been key to our growth—and it’s gratifying to be recognized as a trusted supplier in the architectural community.”
